Eastman Johnson's actual death was about 1926, age 101-102. But I found paintings done in the 30's -70's with his name across top and bottom.  also daughter Ethel Eastman Johnson's name name across the middle.  Ethel switched mostly to photography after 1900. But two of her daughters, Gwendolyn Olga Conkling and Vivien Johnson Conkling both painted prolifically until 1980 and used their mother and grandfathers names. The actual signatures are decorations and meaningless. Gwen was the first Mrs Marc Chagall using a Russian alias Bella Something. With Chagall she had one daughter Susan Chagall alias Helen Frankenthaler. Gwen's most famous aliases are Loise Nevelson and Georgia O'Keefe. As Louise she wore a long wig, big fake eyelashes and gypsy clothing. I met her once. Actually I sold her a nice small Persian mat with  the bottom unravelling. She asked if I knew how to repair, and said she learned while in Ukraine.  As Georgia she only wore black and pulled her hair straight back. Alfred Stieglitz was Vincent van Gogh's last identity. He had 4 kids with Ethel. The first one when she was only 17 and  she was not allowed to marry him. But the marriage to the rich tobacco heir Fredrick Ronalds Lorillard Conkling produced only Gwen, before she left him for the fauxdemised and paid off Van Gogh.  All the kids had  3-4 famous artists aliases their kids also. The only exception was Muriel  (youngest) who married a Dutch baron and lived in Holland her whole life. There were 2 boys, both named Willim after van Gogh's father. The younger was raised in Holland and cane here in the 20's ad Willim DeKooning. The elder was alias Reginald Marsh and the biographer of himself and Winslow Homer(who was EJ's lover in the 1870's-1880's and never painted anything in his life) Lloyd Goodrich. He is probably the most respected American Art historian of all time. Everything he wrote was bogus. The other daughter Vivien married Kermit Roosevelt in Madrid with TR attending. She used the alias Belle Wyatt Willard. Woodrow Wilson (a lover in the 1880's) had made EJ ambassador to Spain as Wyatt Willard (an alias.) Kermit was an alcoholic and impotent, but Vivian got a job as secretary to his first cousin  Eleanor. Fired when she started an affair with Franklin. They had 4 sons, all famous artists. Gwen and Vivien were the two artists with FDR when he had the stroke and died.

When Eleanor hired her Vivien was using the alias Lucy Mercer. Check out Willim DeKoonings wife Elaine. Her Wickipedia photo is the spitting image of Andy Warhol  who was raised in Pittsburgh by his grandma Ethel and VvG along with his 4 Franklin Roosevelt bastard cousins.

The 4 Roosevelt boys born to Vivien were Milton Robert Roosevelt (Robert Rauschenberg) Roy Roosevelt (Roy Lichtenstien) 3rd was raised in France and was a well known French photographer, 4th was the designer Ted Lapidus. Jeff Koons is Rauschenburg's son. The elder Willim born in 1888 when Ethel was 17 was known in my neighborhood as Bill May, he was raised by Harriet May, EJ's younger sister. His son was famous as Robert Motherwell.
